Until the late 1950s, all of the Wooltong schools were church schools - St Peter’s CE and St Mary’s RC in Much Woolton, and St Stephen’s CE in Little Woolton (Gateacre). A new County Primary School was opened in Out Lane in 1957 with separate Infant and Junior Departments. The schools have just celebrated their golden jubilees, coinciding with Liverpool’s 800th birthday.

The material below has been taken from the Junior School’s 50th Birthday display - thanks to Mr NOLAN for waiting patiently while I fiddled with the camera!

Below are two photos from the same year - 3rd Year Juniors (Year 5 in new money!) in 1958-59, featuring Ken ROBERTS in his formative years.
