Originally built by Walton School Board.  This was a free school in 1903 - freed from the charges levied on pupils attending Arnot St and Anfield Rd, the closest Board Schools.  Rice Lane was built soon after.  There were 1,020 pupils in 1900.  The  original building  (below, photo courtesy of Liverpool Record office) was recently demolished and a new one built in Cavendish Drive  near Sainsbury's.  Visit the  website.
